The Camino de Santiago, or the “Way of St. James,” is a journey of profound spiritual significance. There are many routes one can take—be it the French Way, the Portuguese Way, the Primitivo, or the Northern Way, to name just a few—all of which lead to the same sacred destination: the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. There, in the heart of the cathedral, rests the Tomb of St. James the Greater, one of Christ’s beloved apostles.
The Camino is more than a physical pilgrimage. It is a path of transformation—one that will challenge you, inspire you, and bring healing to your body, mind, and soul. Along the way, you may encounter new friends, unexpected blessings, and experiences that will stay with you forever.
No matter when you choose to embark on this holy pilgrimage, know that you will never be the same. The Camino will change you, drawing you closer to God and the communion of saints.

As you embark on the sacred journey of the Camino de Santiago, you will notice a familiar symbol along the way—the Scallop “The Shell“.
This simple, yet profound, emblem marks the path you walk, guiding you toward the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, where the body of St. James the Greater is believed to rest in eternal repose since around 44 A.D.
The shell is not just a physical marker; it is a spiritual sign, a reminder of the pilgrimage you are undertaking—the “Way of St. James.” It is something you will carry with you, a symbol of your journey, a sign of your faith, and a constant invitation to reflect on the deeper meaning of your walk with Christ.
